This illustration is the most personal piece in my collection. It depicts the countryside home of my grandparents in Ukraine, where I spent summers as a child, painted entirely from memory, from the thatched roof and blue-painted windows to the lush, abundant garden that felt like its own small paradise. Every sunflower, every lilac tree, every path of wildflowers is a piece of a childhood I carry with me wherever I go. Painted by a Ukrainian artist now living in Italy, this is a love letter to a homeland seen through the eyes of a child who has never forgotten its beauty.
